ARTICLE PENDING REWORK, DO NOT USE FOR ANY NEW CANON

Player organizations are organizations led by a player character that is not of enough significance to the lore to be listed underneath other category. A player organization can be founded by a player together with multiple other players, and is a vehicle with which players can affect the world of Drase multiplying their power beyond what their individual characters can achieve, and a way to gain power in roleplay other than earning titles and associating with an existing organization.

Player Organization does not provide direct benefits to most players mechanically - but rather roleplay wise, for example a PO will not give players direct income or money - though they can be roleplayed as giving the character comfortable income, and members of PO can utilize the player organization's assets within reasons, depending on the organization type (For example, a criminal one would be much more tolerant of its members enjoying its facilities than a non-corrupt holy order)

Player Organizations are a vehicle in which players can participate in quests with multiplying efforts and is primarily advanced by taking quests and having GM award rewards beyond what is given to an individual player by giving additional rewards to the PO if they've undertaken a quest that benefit said organization.

Adding Details

A player organization primarily advances through gaining assets, NPC memberships and services. Services are defined as services that the organization can provide to its members and is a good measurement of an organization's ability. It also implies the organization have the NPC members necessary to provide said services. Services are mostly for roleplay purpose - but if a GM is willing and able, you can ask them to roleplay as a NPC giving said services to a PC. It will affects the ability of the organization to provide support and set up context for quests and what it can do in an event.

Assets

For assets, any significant, valuable (mostly stationary) assets in the Price List can be added to an organization. Only important real estates and such should be tracked - things like bread or chickens are trivial and not relevant for tracking

NPC Membership

Should not be more than 500 regular members (Any above that would make it a real, actual lore organization and in that case it should be considered for actual promotion / being written into lore). Memberships do not need extremely detailed breakdown, just a breakdown of how many highly significant members (especially those with combat capability) etc. are there

Services

Services are split into different types, representing what kind of capability an organization have. Other similar type of services may be added by a GM as a reward as appropriate.

Rules

  1. Once a PO is founded, its leader is the effective GM for said organization - and other members can roleplay its facilities and GM as it wish. The leader controls the membership of the player organizations, and is expected to control who is in said organization and ask for someone with wiki permissions to update the organization's details (in terms of membership) as needed.
  2. There will not be any direct transfer of any assets or money between a PO and its members - they are on a strictly separate account, you can roleplay grafting (to a reasonable extent), but assets / gears will not be directly transferred.
  3. Activity Rules: If a PO is not of any plot importance and its leader has been inactive for 3 months without any correspondence or intent to roleplay again, one of its member may take over. If it a PO is of plot importance and its leader has been inactive for 1+ month, a GM may take over running it and hand it over to another player if inactive for 3 months.
  4. PO that does not have any plot importance and has been inactive for 6+ months may be removed from the archive entirely and no longer have its assets or power. IC wise, this is considered as the organization being peacefully dissolved.
  5. Promotion: At some point a player organization might be eligible to be raised to a permanent organization in Drase's lore with its own full wiki page. However we don't have anything to accommodate this situation yet, so we'll decide on how to handle it when we get there.

How to Apply

To apply for a player organization:

  • May not be leading any other player organizations. Exception may be given if we're 100% confident you can run both.
  • Must be an active, good roleplayer capable of roleplaying the organization competently.
  • Must have one character who will be the IC and OOC leader of said organization, who is at least of Level 3, and has a good RP justification for leading said organizations and being able to finance or start it off.
  • Must have at least two other active, good roleplayers that have one active character that will become member of said player organization after it is founded.

Then, with the details above, a Character Request for founding a PO is made. Once it is approved, the initial assets / power of the organization is generated out of "thin air", representing assets and supporters the initial founder managed to gather - this is to ensure that the organization can function as one without any need to directly transfer assets between the member and the PO.

PO requests are approved by admins.
