Ways of War
Sahlean are skilled horsemen and practice mounted archery extensively - an art perfected through centuries of contact with the Kirigs and the centaur tribes that preceded them. They utilizes both the swift and powerful Sahlean horses and camelry. Horses were generally considered stronger and more preferred, and were fielded typically by more settled or oases-dwelling Sahlean people, whereas camels are used extensively by more nomadic tribes due to the logistical advantages they offered, especially deep in the desert.
Infantry, armed with javelins, bows (generally smaller and less powerful than that of the warrior elite), slings, shields and spears would supplement mounted forces - but take no part in the common raids that defines inter-tribal warfares amongst the Sahlean.
