The Arzidan Empire is a Loran Empire founded by the Zamari lora millenium ago. Throughout history many many a dynasty have claimed the mantle of the Arzidan Empire. The current Arzidan Empire is probably somewhere between the seventh to tenth dynasty to claim the same mantle.
The modern day Arzidan Empire claims dominion over almost all of the Holds in the Greater Mentia and Silnaria area - but truth is that its power only extends to the Arzidan Plateau and the underground portion called Durukadash. Outside of it, most of the other Loran holds only swear nominal fealty for nominal protection or are effectively

Government
The Arzidan Empire is an elective monarchy. Emperor are elected to a maximum of 50 years term - after which they must abdicate and the Parliament - known as the Uharu, which consists of the representatives of multiple holds / city-states of the Empire, gather to elects amongst them a new Emperor. On death, a new election is also held. The Emperor have nominal authority over the entire Empire and can levy troops and is supplied with common taxes and tariffs to fund a common army for the protection of the Empire.
The common army - shared between all city-state and commanded by the Emperor, is known as the Eme-arin, the "collective troops". Its main purpose is to fight any external wars that the Empire engage in - but since the Empire seldomly engage in external war, it is often deployed for internal security or to protect threatened holds on its outskirts.

- Arzida-Kar - The capital of Arzida. This surface hold is located under the Arzidan mountain ranges near the highlands, and is near the source of the Dhuw river - with an expanded canal that allows for riverine trade.
